about vindicatum

Vindicatum is a Horde World of Warcraft raiding guild on the Icecrown server. Our raiding core has been together since late 2006, from Molten Core (we started late) to present day. Despite our lower raid times in comparison to other high-end guilds we still maintain a competitive raiding environment. We aren’t trying to be the next Ensidia but we want to be the best three night a week guild in the world. We do not believe that lower raid times are an excuse to not clear all available content in a timely fashion, and to clear it faster than most guilds that raid 1-2 days more than us.

While PvP is a secondary concern to us we have several multi-season Gladiator’s in the guild. Interest and success in the PvP aspect of the game is not required but can be a major plus for not only applicants wanting to join but also our members.

We have a pretty laid back guild environment as well. We aren’t just some raiding machine, we do this because it’s fun and we like the people we raid with. With that said though our goal as a guild is to progress as quickly and efficiently as possible. When it’s time to get serious, we do so.

Raiding Philosophy

As stated earlier our goal as a guild is to progress as fast as possible and do it in the most efficient way possible. To do this progression raids will be optimized to make things as easy on the raid as possible. This means if you are the type of person that gets their panties in a wad because you have to sit for a new boss so we can get the kill more quickly and miss out on the sweet new loot or some stupid server first title then you’ll want to look elsewhere.

We do not have a particularly large roster (usually around 32 active raiders) but we want to make sure that if someone misses a raid that our progression isn’t hindered. Having a smaller raid roster also means that our members are able to fill multiple roles if need be and perform them well. All our members have a secondary spec and gear to accompany it. This isn’t a requirement to apply to the guild but by the time your trial period is over we want most of our members to be able to fill multiple roles.

Our members are always striving to be the best they can be, whether it’s switching a few gems around for a few extra stats or constantly reconfiguring their UI for optimal play. We plan out our gear ahead of time and we all have optimal tradeskills. When we were progressing through Sunwell about 80% of our raiders had Leatherworking for the drum buffs. It wasn’t forced, we just have members that will go the extra mile to help the guild succeed.

Guild Raid Times

Icecrown is a Mountain Standard Time server. We actively raid three days a week.

* Sundays: 6 Server to 11 Server
* Mondays: 7 Server to 11 Server
* Tuesdays: 7 Server to 11 Server
* Wednesdays: Off (optional 10 man)
* Thursdays: Off (optional 10 man)
* Fridays: Off
* Saturdays: Off

We don’t do any attempts past 10:59.

Loot

Loot is just a means to an end for us. We use an officer loot council and try to distribute loot as fair and fast as possible. The factors included on who gets what item include.

What will help progression the most?
How has the person's performance been lately?
How has the person's attendance been lately?
How much loot has this person got compared to others?

Usually though everyone is around the same caliber of player and we just go for even item distribution.

Application Process

First make sure you have thoroughly read the above page, our recruitment post, and the Apply page, including any further links in these sections. If the guild does not sound like it would be the absolute best fit for you as far as World of Warcraft guilds go, then don’t bother applying. Don’t waste your time (and possibly money) or our time.

If this does sound like something you want to be a part of, fill out our application form on the Apply section of our website. If you have any additional information you would like to add to your application simply PM an officer on the forums.

If we are interested in your application we will send you a PM within a few days to setup a Ventrilo interview, if you do not hear from us within a week, then we are not interested. Do not contact any members of the guild inquiring about your application status, we will let you know. Do feel free to contact any member of the guild if you have any additional questions about the guild.

Our trial period is at the minimum a month, sometimes slightly over if further evaluation is required. Applicants are judged in many aspects of raiding from physical raid performance to perceived motivation and longevity.
